Ecosystem restoration is the act of assisting the recovery of ecosystems that have been degraded or destroyed, as well as conserving ecosystems that are still intact. Coastal restoration falls under this umbrella term but focuses on restoring coastal ecosystems. Restoring coastal ecosystems not only benefits wildlife, but they also help us as well by providing clean water, protecting us from storms, and supporting the local economy.
